The ‘fit model’ is the model hired to ensure that jeans fit perfectly; so, the jeans will be tailored to the fit model’s measurements and then scaled up and down for general sale. As you can imagine, she’s learned a LOT about jeans throughout her long career; Where to place the pockets for the illusion of a perter bottom, slimmer hips and longer legs, which fabrics create the smoothest shape with the maximum comfort and which extras, like buttons and zips really make jeans feel and look amazing.

My personal favourites are the Mid Rise Kenya Sailor jeans – darkest indigo, almost a Prussian blue colour, very inky. I adore the length, I’ll wear them on holiday with flat delicate sandals and then in the winter with killer black patent pointy heels, a long length white silk shirt, a sharp blazer and a gorgeous 1920s gold and black lame scarf I picked up recently at an antiques fair.
